Science Week Activities
Hello there and welcome to our page!
We have been very busy since we started First Class.
We learned lots about ourselves.
Maths Update First Class:
First class began “Maths Blast” on Monday 3rd November 2014. The focus of “Maths blast” is on early numeracy learning. The topics cover number words and numerals, counting strategies, structuring numbers in the range 1-10 and 1-20, adding and subtracting. These activities are further consolidated through maths computer games.
The programme is being implemented with the support of the Learning support and Resource teachers. It will run three days per week for eight to ten weeks. The pupils are in small groups and move from station to station every 15 minutes. This methodology has been proven to be very successful in the development of early number skills. The children are actively engaged at all times and are really enjoying the experience.
