Our First School Concert

What are we getting up to in Miss Cartys Class............

Hi all! Welcome to a new year! We have been a busy bunch here in Miss Cartys class since starting in September! Have a look at our happy Minions above! :)

In September we were busy getting ourselves settled back in school and learning all about each other and our six new classmates! We worked really hard on our five senses and did some really cool five senses bears!

Now we are in the month of October we can see lots of signs of Autumn all around us! We went on an Autumn walk around the school and collected some Autumn leaves for our art...take a look!

Maths week was also at the beginning of October we loved the different activities we did throughout the week as you can see in our pictures!

We have been very busy in Senior Infants since our Easter break! We have been learning all about habitats and all the different environments that animals and people live in! We looked at four different habitats and learned about the animals , people and plants that live there! The four habitats were the desert, antarctic , the ocean and the forest! We also went on a little walk around the school grounds to see what animals and insects we have here! We used magnifying glasses to help us to see them better!

Since we are now in the new season of Summer we have been learning all about Bees this month! We were surprised to find out how important bees were for plants and that we must help to look after bees as much as we can! We are working on making our own lovely bees in art this week too!


Winter wonderland.
We have been learning all about Winter and Hibernation. We even have our own hibernating home for a hedgehog in the school! We learned a song on hibernation that we love singing! 



Santa visit!We all had a great day when this special guy came to our school!

Halloween dress up fun!

 The signs of Autumn are now definitely all around us. We really enjoy looking at all the lovely Autumn leaves changing colours and we decided to create our own trees using Autumn colours! I think we did a good job, have a look and see.....

We have been getting ready for Halloween in Senior Infants! We have been making some scary pumpkins and bats in class. Check out our spooky work....
